This house won a 2012 Chicago Landmark award for best residential design. Located in Ukrainian village this house started as a single family house. The widow converted it to a two-flat and when our clients found the house it was five apartments. We reimagined the structure into three apartments. The basement was lowered to create two duplex units. The clients wanted to add several green features including three geothermal heating units.
