This Bucktown renovation over a former corner storefront combined the second-floor unit with an expanded attic over an existing single-floor rear apartment with an attached garage. The cobbled-together plan of 3 dwelling units wasn’t working for the owners who lived over the former storefront. They sought the advice of M&V Architects to combine the mixed parts of the second floor into a renovated unit expanding over the side entry stair-hall into the enlarged attic space for extra living and gallery spaces. These added spaces further were opened onto a roof deck over the garage.
